The workshops are intended for pianists at Cycle 3 level from a music school or conservatory, or beyond.
The three sessions each last two days and are spaced out throughout the year 2021-2022. They are organized in partnership with the “Musique et Montagne” association.
It is possible to register for a single session, however they are built in complementarity and with an objective of annual progression.
For reasons of efficiency, the maximum number of trainees is limited to 8. The course is organized in a calm and friendly place in the center of the town of Vézelay, a major pilgrimage site in the heart of historic Burgundy, conducive to the serenity of the work and the quality of the exchanges. The lessons take place in two rooms equipped with good grand piano.
An end of internship concert will be organized on April 24, 2022 and offered by interns and teachers to the public in Vézelay.
Content of meetings
Improvement of Piano Decoding : work methodology for improving sheet music decoding abilities. Reading techniques. Notions of reduction and transposition. The course will be adapted to allow everyone to progress according to their initial learning.
Practical analysis : location on score of the main compositional elements; Better perceive the intentions of the composer to shed light on the pianistic interpretation.
Management of scenic emotions : adapt effective tools, specific to each and everyone, create physical and mental security so that scenic situations become moments of sharing and pleasure.
Notions of practical harmony : basics of harmonic paths, cadential placements, basso continuo figures. Knowing how to find one's bearings, find the main harmonic and tonal paths of a score.
Piano for four hands : Specificities of piano playing for four hands, technical and interpretative approach, elements of repertoire.

Concert preparation : Advice on the preparation of concerts and on the stage.
Regarding the piano for four hands, a list of works to choose from at various levels will be sent to each trainee after registration, the groups will be formed during the first weekend of the session. The scores will be provided. Each piano ensemble will be programmed during the concert scheduled for April 24, 2022.
